Palm Sunday is NOT a public holiday, but it always falls on a Sunday. That is why it is called Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is in Christian tradition the celebration of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on the Sunday before the crucifixion. It is celebrated on the last Sunday before Easter. The name comes from the Gospel account of people scattering palm branches in front of Jesus as he rode into the city.
