New Year's Eve, December 31, the last day of the year and the evening before the first New Year's Day. This is basically a normal day, but often looks like a half working day, in line with Christmas Eve.
In many countries, the day is also called New Year's Eve, after the day of death of the saint of the same name. According to legend, St. Sylvester influenced Emperor Constantine to make Christianity a state religion. He also cured lepers and was claimed as the protector of domestic animals, but has had little significance in Norway.
